It must be good to be a Ethical Hacker :)

Posted By on May 4, 2009

Sorry about not returning comments these past few days. I will do it from tomorrow and on, as I’ve had a lot of problem with the connection here at grandma’s. But don’t worry ^^ I will get back to you sooner or later. I also want to thank all the ones who signed up for the petition to save my town’s Hospital *hugs* Thanks from the heart! And please, if you haven’t signed up yet and do care for this cause, use the black banner above my post here to sign it. Thanks! :(

I’d like to talk about something that can be interesting enough to all of you who have a passion for informatics, and especially for IT Security :) I know that some of my blogger friends here study IT either as a hobby or as a college/university subject, so I’m pretty sure you’ll find this interesting to read ^^ What I’m going to talk about here is Ethical Hacking.

What is a Ethical Hacker? According to Wikipedia, a Ethical Hacker – also called white hat – is an expert in IT security who has the task, in a company, to use aggressive methods of testing security to ensure it really works on company systems and to fight black hat hackers. The job of Ethical Hacker is one for which pay is being rised more and more over the last few years, and this because the Ethical Hacker is a figure that’s really needed in organization teams, especially for the bigger ones.

Thus, I think it would be good and helpful to our society and worldwide companies there were more young competent Ethical Hackers to work for them; thanfully, there are courses like EC Council who offer a very good training for all the young IT geeks who wish to specialize in IT security and Ethical hacking :) Their courses provide a wide range of topics, from Security Fundamentals to Penetration Testing, from Disaster Recovery to Secure Programming.

Surely this isn’t something for me, but I think it may be good for some of you who’d love to work for IT security :) As for myself, if I can learn to successfully protect my home network and websites from hackers, I’ll have achieved a lot already ^^

Luana SpinettiHi! My name is Luana. I'm a 26 years old Italian girl living in a province of Rome. I'm engaged   to my one and only soulmate Simone (and married to a Transformer, Jackie, in imagination only :P). I live with my parents, brother and sister, and 2 wonderful little robots, Orion   and Erik . I'm a freelance illustrator, article writer and translator. I'm a DeviantART addict, a domain junkie, and a very feminine, motherly, out-of-the-box, creative girl. On the downside, I get depressed way too easily, and sometimes I turn into a lazy procrastinator. Read more about Luana Spinetti
