Five years of Web life risked going to waste

Posted By on December 21, 2010

And so, Nolimitshost.info is back with its servers, and Honey-Babe.net came back with it! :D I’m so happy! I have been scared to loose all of my site contents and files, and you know, I own so many websites that it would be a BIG loss.

I create and maintain blogs, personal sites and resource/portfolios since late 2004/early 2005, and I have cumulated a number of posts, pages and content of every kind that loosing it… well, it would be like loosing a considerable part of these five years of life. I feel my websites as a part of my soul, and I’d be lost without them. Really, downtimes are no fun, especially when they are THAT prolongued. =_= Luckily, this is all over.

You should still visit Luana.co.cc though! :P Hehe.

Regarding my financial troubles, they are only temporary, and I will certainly be back on track before February. ^^ I need to be patient, pay my several domain renewals, subscription fees and for Christmas presents of course. I’m also using a new search domain name tool that’s revealing itself pretty useful for a domain addict like me. It helps coming up with good names. :P When I get to earn more money, I will make sure to register all those domains in my wishlist. Oh, I must.

If it wasn’t for some things that happened to my websites when I’d upgrade WordPress (pre-automated WordPress upgrade!), etc., I could’ve retain all of the past posts, even from way back in 2004! Even last year when I decided to switch to Habari and then back to WordPress… I lost all of those precious posts. Sad, really.

That’s why I will try my best to keep this website and clutch onto them. :D

Oh man, losing all your files would’ve been horrible! I’ve heard so many stories of server downtime and people losing their entire websites! Good thing nolimitshost came back!

PS. I’m Krystee from Krystee.co.cc, in case you wish to change the link. ^^

DOWNTIME SUCKS, let’s face it. :P :P I used to be hosted on Angeltowns and instead of even giving us a warning, they just deleted everyone’s accounts, just like that. Someone had violated their rules so they discontinued their free service. Had it not been free it would have been a million times worse!

I keep backups every day. Since that day I have been paranoid about backups all the time. x_x

Don’t get too addicted to those domains dear! :P I don’t really have a wishlist but sometimes one pops up that I must get, and I get my hands on it straight away. I’m trying not to get any new ones for now though, I’m happy with what I’ve got.

I’m not too sure if I’ll see James in the next few days but I’m sure I will soon enough! :3

AHH I saw someone registered it, didn’t know it was you! Hurrah, glad you like it! <3

NLH made my Christmas a unchristmassy :) ) If there’s a term for that. I’m glad it’s all backup but now they have problems with the WHM and the cpanel accounts >_< Plus their backup thingy doesn't work! I wanna transfer so soon :(

I also love buying domains but right now I'm thinking I should stop the addiction =))) I might end up not renewing any! Hahahaha. God bless you Luana, let's hope NLH update us or something because they still haven't and even their client area is dead. Can't believe how they turned out to be.

    Advance Happy New Year!!

I would love to own a domain one day. But for right now, going the subdomain route is good.

Downtimes are… well they suck. I just hate waiting and the feeling like you’re never going to get your site back. Mostly I just hate the waiting part.

Luana SpinettiHi! My name is Luana. I'm a 26 years old Italian girl living in a province of Rome. I live with my parents, brother and sister, and 2 wonderful little robots, Orion   and Erik . I'm a freelance illustrator, article writer and translator. I'm a DeviantART addict, a domain junkie, and a very feminine, motherly, out-of-the-box, creative girl. On the downside, I get depressed way too easily, and sometimes I turn into a lazy procrastinator. Read more about Luana Spinetti
