A thought about religions

HAPPY Belated MOTHER’S DAY to all Moms in the World! :D

I have no classes today – at least, not the ones I need, as I can choose what to follow and what not – so I stayed home to work online, study and put some order in my half-room (because the other half’s my sister’s :P ). Simone was a little sad over my absence at university, because he really wanted to spend time with me and study together, but I promised we would keep in touch all through the day; I just didn’t feel like wasting precious hours on bus trips when I have a lot of stuff to do, heh. ^^”

Switching subjects now: over the last two days, I have spent most of my online time trying to understand Islam by reading a friend’s blog, some other bloggers’ and artists on DeviantART. If you don’t know already, I’m a Christian (Catholic) but I believe in sharing all the good of faith with other religions too, and trying to understand each other is the first way to do that, especially in nowadays world, where religion is often used as an excuse for violence, discrimination and other abominable things.

To say the truth, I’m thinking about opening a section dedicated to my beliefs here on Honey-Babe.net, and my relationship with people who think/believe differently. I’m a respectful person and a peace promoter, so don’t worry: nothing you will read on those pages is going to be harsh, or judgmental, nor discriminatory.

As for my religion, I can tell you this: don’t trust Christians who bash you or try to discriminate you because you think/believe differently… Christianity is a religion of peace, love and acceptance, and those so-called ‘Christians’ aren’t acting the way they label themselves.

Take care. I will visit your blogs soon (sorry about the long absence, I had to deal with exams and other things, including mom’s surgery – nothing too serious).

I know how you feel luana…I am an Muslim but actually saying I am muslim is completely wrong, i don’t practice it, lots of things still in my head about it, just too many questions. I’ve been reading The God Delusion by Dawkins and its completely mesmerizing me. I think i’ve become more a believer in science then religion i guess. Deep down inside I know i look up to an superior being all the time. What i believe is that an good heart and soul is so much more important then following an religion. You would be a great person if you can be truly pure from the inside and that type of person is so hard to find! I am so glad you respect all religions, I do too, i really like the teachings of Islam (some) and Buddhism, etc Its nice to know about them. One of my friends believe in all religions (shes really cute haha) and she wears all the religious symbols around her neck , which I find real amazing! I’m def. gonna write about religious views soon too. Oh yes i was gonna ask you hun to join my feed, i hardly have any friends subscribing =) I need to subscribe to yours also!

@Moni, Well, you know how they say it, hun: every religion contains a seed of The Truth. :) I’m so glad this post inspired you to share your religious views; I believe people should never be afraid of doing that, as telling the world we love our God, or even if we don’t believe at all, is just so beautiful, and nothing shameful at all! The problem only comes up with people use it as an excuse to impose their own ideas upon others: they can’t really understand that faith and conversions are affairs of a person’s heart and not of the mind, don’t they? ^^” I hope these people will mature one day…

Oh, and I subscribed to your Feed just now! :D

I’m a Christian, under the Baptist religion though.

I actually find other religions interesting. Everyone has their own beliefs and I respect that. I only draw the line when someone bashes your religion and tries to force theirs upon you like its the only way.

@Simone, You have a point there. :) It’s really all about being nice to each other, sharing the good and being acceptant of the differences too.

Aww, I will repeat it: I love your name! :D Hehe.

Oh, what do you mean by “through me off when I seen it” ? :)

belated happy mother’s day to your mom Luana! :) I agree.. time is sooo precious to waste it on long bus trips. o___O

anyways, we have the same thing in common. I’m also open to understanding other religions besides my own. I’m a Catholic and my boyfriend is Islam and so far we both understand each other well and we never came to the point where we have to argue or fight over our religions. ;)

WE CANNOT SAY WETHER A RELIGION PREACHES THINGS CONNECTED TO TERRORISM OR PEACE UNTIL AND UNLESS WE STUDY IT OUR SELF AND APPLY IT IN OUR LIVES. EQUALITY AND PEACE ARE EXACTLY THE BEST QUALITIES OF A RELIGION, TRYING TO UNDERSTAND OTHERS AND ALLOWING THEM TO HAVE THEIR OWN OPINION.

Indeed, dear. :) That’s exactly THE point.

I strongly approve of you creating that new section. I like to think of myself as a peace promoter, too haha. Whenever people have a different opinion than me, I view it as a learning opportunity, for me to learn more about my own beliefs. I never criticize or harass anyone that is different, because our differences are what make us us. If you ever need other people’s opinions on certain issues, lemme know, because I’d gladly contribute.

I am a Muslim and I believe that even my belief is different than those of the, say, Christians or Buddhists, I respect their choice of faiths and I’m not going to go around killing people because of the difference in our beliefs. It is, of course, a lie if I say I don’t disagree with their religious ideas but whatever opinions I have, I keep them to myself.

I believe all religions (well maybe some other cults) preach peace so there shouldn’t be this ongoing hatred for one another. I understand that people tend to dislike others who are different from themselves, but that doesn’t give them any right to hurt others.

Thnk you for the comment love! It made my feel better and it made a good ending to a horrible few days. The stress and drama and all has calmed down and I’m feeling a lot better. :D once again thank you!!!

I am also a catholic and I am strong in my faith. I do believe the same as you though, if we do not understand each other how can we work together. It’s kind of like why the holy land always has wars. It’s 3 religions all with the same founding father, Abraham, and yet they fight because they do not listen to the other side. I find it sad.

I also agree with the statement about christans who bash other and such. True truth is they do this because they are misguided in their faith, which is a pity. I believe that the people who are more educated in their faith are more mature on understanding other religons and acceptance. :)

wow.. I salute you for that Luana. I am a Muslim but I read about other religions too. Some says I am out of my mind. I say, I am just trying to comprehend things. It’s not like I will convert or so. I am just trying to understand.
I am a Muslim but I cannot say I am a perfect one. I am trying my best though. :)

i really can’t say much about this topic since I don’t really mind if religion of my friends/other people are different. It’s because to me, what matters is that you respect each other’s point of view and not only through your religion but as a person :)

    Miss you luana! :D
