Chromia… and University annoyances

Posted By on February 18, 2011

It’s a bad day; I feel sore and irritable. Even so, I can’t just stay in bed and do nothing: I need my websites, my friends, my fiancée, my fictional Characters, to cheer me up with their life stories. :) That way I can be happy, no matter the physical pain that’s annoying me. The left side of my body hurts like heck, I had to take a strong pain killer twice today. Guess where it comes from… Hard to guess? Here’s the answer: the freaking’ bus. :bleh: And here’s the whole story: since the engine had a issue, the bus driver last night thought well of setting heaters (placed under seats) at their maximum power, because otherwise the bus would stop in the middle of the road. We were forced to open windows because oxygen began to fade away after a while (I was about to faint at a certain point), but the result of this mingling of extreme heat and cold wind gave me a sort of ‘muscle fever’ today, and the whole left side of my body hurts, and even walking or sitting is painful.

And now, some nicer, more positive news (you don’t want to read an all-rant-ish entry, do you? ;) ).

So, I have gotten more subdomains approved for my new Robocity Characters, and here’s the one that took me the most hours to get done:

That sweet, beautiful robot girl on the site heard is Chromia Yelenis, a young Experimental Robot who recently joined the Robocity community. :) She was built to work as a model, and she still does, from time to time. I wanted her site to be as cute as she is, so I worked hard to make her layout highlight both her personality and appearance. I hope the effort brought the hoped result, as drawing Chromia, coloring her, and then use her image for the header wasn’t so easy (choosing the color theme was especially challenging). :D I would have more sites to showcase, but until I have them properly setup, I won’t be publishing them here. Anyway, if you wish to link exchange or affiliate with Chromia, simply leave a comment on her blog entry on chromia.hyrule.nu. I’ll take care of that. ;)

On the studying side, I have often thought about the possibility to earn bachelor degree online, but I came down to the decision not to undertake further studies after I’m done with university, because… well, I’m almost 26, and I’d probably finish around my 28 (or 29/30, depending on how long I take to graduate), so any other studies I’m going to pursue in the future are only going to be self-taught. However, I wish for my fiancée to continue his studies, even when he’s got a job, because he’s so young – and a little genius! – and he’s got so much potential that not pursuing further studies would be a loss. :) Yes, I believe so, and I’m always going to support him. Always. P.S. It’s our 1st Anniversary on the 4th of March! *_*

Regarding my university career, instead, as most of you know, I had to take two exams this month: Linear Algebra and Operations Research. However, I ran into issues that prevented me from doing it:

1) I got stuck on some Linear Algebra topics, which slowed me down, and I ended up not finishing my syllabus for the exam. That means I have to wait until June to re-take the exam. Not that I care, I have more time to consolidate my knowledge, so that’s good. :)

2) My Operations Research teacher is an idiot. =.=’ Yes, he just is. He had told us he’d only do a few topics this year, because our classes started very late, on mid October, but he added a topic on the last minute some months ago, one that can’t even be found online or on other books, and for which he gave out a set of photocopies. Where the heck are these photocopies? O_O He did NOT publish them on his website, he gave a copy to a classmate and told him to distribute copies! X___X You know how that kind of thing goes… it takes MONTHS for everyone to have a copy, and in fact, I haven’t mine yet! And the exam’s on the 24th of February!! X_X Needless saying it’s impossible for me to take this exam now, because I miss one a piece of the syllabus, and I saw on old papers that this teacher will ask one or two questions about this topic. Just… fail. I’ll take this one on June too.

Hey sweetheart! yes, i feel just as bad, I try to remember our friendship with the positive things we had in it. But i hope we can talk about later…a lot of misunderstandings tend to happen, its life.
I did email you about something, i do hope you got it =D I just love your art, its awesome and im glad you got pproved for your characterss! About studying, im actually doing an diploma thingy online, Im 26 as well and working my way towards an MBA or at least Masters so i thought doing some professional certificate programs would be useful when I do apply for masters. I could have been done a lot sooner but was lacking the dinero =/ I say you can go for online degrees, I do like them, quite easy and you have the freedom of doing things your way but do make sure the uni or college is an accredited one. =D

    Hope we talk soon hun

    Love ya

@Moni, I hope to find something good online, that will leave me with enough freedom to manage my time. Otherwise, I’m afraid I’ll have to stop and only study by myself on free time. Italy doesn’t have a lot of options for online students, alas. >.<

    Love ya too. ^*^

I hope you will ace the re-takes, I’m sure you will! It sucks when teachers are completely unhelpful. You know you can not always trust classmates either, it takes ages to pass something like that around. :( I hope you will still come out on top. ^_^

Chromia is gorgeous! :) I welcome her into the world, hehe.

University can be a bit of a pain in the ass! I should consider myself lucky for still being young and going alright, for I’d hate to be around your age and having such troubles. You’re still a very hard worker and I know you take pride in all that you do, sometimes we just have to take everything as it comes. :)

*hugs* Happy anniversary in advance! <3

@Georgina, You know, I have attended at a 3 years course in comic art before enrolling to university, that’s why I’m almost 26 and still in 2nd year. ^^ I don’t mind studying until my 30s, I only believe I shouldn’t enroll to 2nd level degree or to a master after that age, because then I would start working too late. If I manage to do something online that leaves me enough freedom, then I will do that, otherwise I won’t.

Aww thank you! x3 *hugs tightly* And thanks for liking Chromia too. ^w^

Wow that is a really strange story about the bus. I don’t often take the bus as public transportation where I live is pretty much non-existent but that definitely doesn’t make me want to in the near future. I hope you feel better! Good for you though, not letting it get in your way.

You and never too old to learn. I hope once I start working to be able to go back to school even part time just to further my education. One of the universities here offers free tuition to seniors which I will probably take advantage of one day lol.

    Congrats on the Anniversary :)

@Jenn, “You and never too old to learn.” That’s granted, dear. :) I only need to find new ways to do it in the future, because I also need to find a job before I turn 30. Italy doesn’t allow for too many online chances, but I hope to find a good compromise when time comes. ^-^

My mom is going through this weird pain herself. I hope you get through that real quick because it does suck to deal with the soreness.

I never really noticed, but you’re an extremely good artist! Chromia looks amazing!

You know, a lot of my teachers right now said that some teachers in college will be amazing, while others will suck to the tenth degree. Some teachers don’t even care about your education- they just quickly do what they have to do and get their pay checks. And of course, there are other teachers who truly care and can even change your life.

I guess that teacher simply doesn’t care because he should know better. :)

(I’m going to remember you anniversary so that on that day, I’ll come and say ‘happy anniversary”!)

    @Jenny, Awww thank you! *blush*

Unfortunately, some teachers are really like that. :( They ruin our life. I hate that, because later in life we may need a certain reputation on a certain subject, and we just don’t because our teacher hated doing his/her job. That’s cruel.

Thank you darling. I’ll check messages on that day, and give you a BIG hug! :D

I know the feeling, of just wanting to do nothing because you are in such pain, bu not feeling happy unless you get to do certain things. I do wish that your pains will disappear soon!

That bus ride sounds horrible! I can’t believe they allowed him to do that to the passangers. I don’t think the companies ehre would let that slide.

I LOVE THEY LAYOUT! It looks amazing. I think what makes it amazing it the artwork in it. I can’t wait to see the entries that will be posted there.

Oh dear, it seems like university is harder than highschool, obviously, but everyone who blogs about it makes it seem 10 times harder. x_x I am still unsure what I want to take.

    ¡Hola!
