Too few associations do promote safe driving effectively nowadays. I hope there will be more work done in the next five years, especially since there’s been an awful increase in youth and older people dying because of unsafe driving or because they got involved in car accidents or hit by drunk drivers. Good thing there’s NMEDA around to fill the gap. NMEDA is non-profit trade organization that strives to educate folks to drive safely and works to promote architectures and equipment for people with disabilities. That’s another reason for a steady fight: disable people are not all the same, they have different needs and experience trouble with different architectural barriers, and they ought to use diversely built vehicles to drive.

NMEDA is US based, so if you live on the US territory, go to NMEDA.ORG and click on “Locate a Dealer”; enter your ZIP code to find a dealer near you, or just select a state if you wish to make a more generic search. It’s simple, and the layout design is very neat too.

I’m sorry about not keeping in touch as well. Besides a OVERLOAD OF WORK to get done lately, I’ve also been through a tough experience in my life (no, I’m not going to talk about that here, at least for now), and I haven’t been feeling like chatting, emailing and all that jazz. I feel better now anyway, so it’s just a matter of time and patience.

Right now I’m sitting beside Simmy at granny’s house. Some time to relax and enjoy time together. Gosh, if we needed it!

On a more personal side: my week with Alberto has been wonderfully relaxing and troubling at the same time. The latter aspect is too personal to blog it about here on Honey-Babe.net, but the former was the most fullfilling in my whole life. A true bonding time with my son. I shall never forget that, and I hope it’s a good prelude to our future living together into as a true family.

I continued a good portion of my short story “Evergreen“. It’s moving a tale, a dying heart who still longs for love… but I won’t spoil more. This story will appear in my published e-book, which I hope to finish within December 2011.

I need to finish this stuff within tomorrow night, more or less. I finished coloring Talla‘s profile picture today (it’s on her site). And on Sunday I need to do some massive work on 2 art commissions and 1 picture for a friend who gets easily depressed if I don’t hand her the picture within the month. If only the heat would stop beating me down so BADLY! It’s like dying, really. This is the reason why I hate summer: it would be such a great season if the heat wasn’t so suffocating! And I always have so many things to do in summer, and the heat and humidity get in the middle. ARGH.

I was reading a few news headlines on Yahoo! homepage. Movie trailers, the World Cup and “Eclipse” parodies. No suicidals cases or other cruent stuff of that kind, thankfully. There was also this blog, called “abdul rahman el assir” (I don’t know why such a name, but oh well, it’s yet another news source for those who are interested) with plenty of news headers, worldwide news I mean. Just some reading to get update over the world events. Yes, I try to avoid it as a plague, but I need to give it a weekly read at least. I’m still too sensitive to watch news on TV; there is too much crudeness, too much violence, for my heart and stomach to stand.

Regarding the Twilight saga: perhaps I’ll borrow the first two books from Simone. I prefer books to movies, and of course I can’t go watch Eclipse if I haven’t watched the first two films, or at least read the first two books. I’m not much into vampire stories, and I don’t like the fanatism-centered fandom that was created around the series, but I want to give it a try; Simone told me the books are romance-centered, and that’s something interesting to me, vampires or not. I’m curious.

About my short-story collection e-book, you can now read a sample chapter – a short story titled “Scrapped” – at this link: books.luanaspinetti.com/samples/scrapped. I hope to get the next two short stories – their drafts – done by the end of August. I’m going to put all my energies at work to finish them. ^^ I’d love to be able to publish the e-book by the end of the year. Oh that would be so wonderful an achievement!

Graphics-wise, I made two layouts for Luly.in and Robo.licious.org (two new sites of mine, a project/collective site and an anime/manga review one). Luly.in features an old illustration of mine in the header:

Today Simmy has been over for lunch. My parents seem to like him very much, and I’m happy with that, because I adore it when my family appreciates and loves my Children of the Heart. And Simone is a true angel. Yesterday morning I went to university to encourage him to do an exam, and after he was done, we went to Termini station to eat at McDonald’s, and to the cinema to watch Toy Story 3. Both of us ended up crying, for Andy and for the toys. But I won’t spoil the story here: go watch the movie if you wish to know.

Just a quick entry to tell you how proud I am of HP products. Scanners, printers, LCD TVs… the quality is always unbeatable, and I especially love my dear scanner, that allows me to scan high resolution versions of my inked drawings to color in Photoshop, either they be commissions or personal works. Same said with documents. Also, the scanner’s software auto-updates every day, with no hassles, and the image editing program that comes with the scanner did let me do a good job even when I couldn’t use Photoshop for some time. ^_^ Just neat. I should post a photo of my dear scanner sometimes.

I wish I could stay online for longer tonight, but I can’t, so I’ll be posting something ‘more personal’ tomorrow or on Sunday. Here’s what I’ve done today anyway:

- did graphics and coding of two layouts
- installed those layouts on Luly.in and Robo.licious.org
- finished the first chapter of a book about Evariste Galois and his Group Theory
- planned my sites’ contents (offline)
- continued my short stories

I wish all days were THAT productive. Hehe.

The singing drama has been resolved. Looks like it originated by my misunderstanding of my sister’s speech – because she’s got an aggressive way of talking, and her tone and words were by all means… mean. She apologized for that now, so it’s alright. We have been through more trouble though, about which I won’t write out in detail, but this is a good summary for it: she thinks that, because we are sisters, she has a right to bug me 24/7, even when I’m too exhausted or in a bad mood to listen to her nonsense or pessimistic blah-blahs. I ended up with a nervous breakdown, and I shouted my heart out so much that everyone outside heard me I believe. Later on I apologized for shouting that much, but she had to learn to respect me once forever… something that she said sorry for, but then the next morning she did even worse, waking me up and treating me like a servant only because she woke up late and I had to assist her and send her friend texts for her. WTF =__= But yes, that makes a good summary, so I’ll end it here.

Last night I was at the beach with my best friend (Cristina) and her boyfriend, celebrating her 21st birthday. And you know… there’s a long story behind that. Hehe. At 6:30PM Cri’s boyfriend called me to go downstairs and stay as silent as possible, so that he could make me sneak in his car by leaving Cristina unaware of it. She was bandaged all around her face, because the final destination had to be a surprise, and she had not to know I was coming to her party until we were on the beach. So we left, and we stopped at Albano (a city nearby) to get another two guys aboard (they sneaked in just as I did). Cristina did not notice us, so the surprise was still safe. Sometimes I stopped breathing for short moments so that she wouldn’t feel anyone on the back seat. Looks like it worked. LOL. Once at the sea (Torvaianica), the two guys and I left the car with Cri’s boyfriend’s help, and waited for them at the beach, while his brother and sister prepared the table with yummy treats. We saw Cristina and her boyfriend walking to us; she was no longer bandaged, but she was keeping her eyes closed. Soon as they approached us, he told her to open her eyes and… SUPRISE! We were all there to celebrate her birthday, clapping to her and hugging her. It was an exciting moment, one that I didn’t experience in years. I could feel her joy. *__* The rest of the day was spent by chit chatting on the beach, sitting on beach towels, looking at the sunset, eating, joking, singing together, playing. I was the shiest of all – mostly because I didn’t know Cri’s and her boyfriend’s friends at all – but I could sense good hearts all around me, and even though I didn’t really talk to anybody, I was able to enjoy their activities my own way. I’m not really one to make friends “at first glance”; I need more meeting sessions before I really start talking to anybody, but perhaps next time will make the difference. Cri and her boyfriend are a sister and a brother to me, they’re wonderful people, so I feel I can trust their friends as well. It only takes a bit to overcome shyness.

What else? I just ended a two-hours long conversation on the phone with my son Simmy. It was lovely. ^.^ It gave both of us a chance to spend time together, to vent on each other, cuddle and laugh and plan things for the next weeks, and I must say I do feel a lot more relaxed now… especially after the hurt my sister caused.

You see, I have always had a deep love in singing, and I’ve been part of a Church chorus for 9 years before quitting because I was too busy and because most chorus members were quitting as well. My voice is not the greatest on Earth, but people used to say it was lovely to listen to, and so I kept on feeding this hobby of mine, until my sister took all of the available “singing hours” at home (hours in which nobody is sleeping/studying/working) and I let her because she said she wanted to turn that hobby into a future career. That meant the end of my singing days, excepting Sundays at Church, where I kept singing, even though not as a part of a choir. Now, three days ago, I went to Rome with my sister to replace a friend of hers – who couldn’t come to the singing lesson my sister had paid to her as a birthday present – and listen to my sister sing as well. I didn’t really want to, because my shyness has grown tick on me since I quit singing, and I was almost certain to mess up and get laughed at. Well, it didn’t happen. The teacher told me I’ve got a good voice, that I’m a soprano, that my voice is well setted and tuned, and that the only trouble I need to overcome is my tick shyness. Even so, he was very objective about it, he didn’t favourite any of us… but my sister, at home, acted like I had been complimented more than her, and to say the truth she had been not much of a good company during the whole trip to and from Rome. It really hurt me, because all I wanted was spending a good time with her.

Today she ‘attacked’ me again: she had a free lesson with that same teacher on Skype, and since he had seen me around from the webcam, he asked my sister whether I could be given 10 minutes off her lesson time to revise notes and pitches with him, and that my sister and I could make a duet at the end of the course; I refused, because I know that’s my sister’s dream and I didn’t want to intrude. After the lesson, I asked my sister to tell her teacher, next time, that I’m no longer interested in the course, so that he could focus on her only and stop mentioning me all the time. What I got from my sister was a cold “You can tell him yourself. After all, he should have realized that you’re not interested in singing.”
I was SHOCKED. O_O And HURT. She’s known about my love for singing for years, and I was the one to introduce her to singing for fun… and that’s what I get from her now?! What hurt me as well, was that she showed no gratitude for my sacrifice, nor the smallest consideration for my feelings.

I know what to do now: I will contact the teacher and I will tell him I’m not going to follow his course this year for lack of money, BUT in two years of time… OH YEAH! I’m going to! And without my sister around. I’m done dealing with her selfishness. I love her because she’s my sister, but I can’t tolerate being treated this way. So, she can enjoy her singing course now. I will do when my time comes, and believe me, I shall be a little selfish too. She needs to learn a lesson.

I am currently working on a new website, Lou’s Novella Journal, kindly hosted by Tran at novella.nu, completely dedicated to sharing updates on my writing projects, including fanfiction, poetry, blogging and stories to publish. There is pretty much nothing to look at for the moment, but if you would be so kind to leave a comment or a suggestion, I would greatly appreciate it.

So, I had my English exam on June 23rd. It was easy, just a text to read with a number of questions to answer. The only problem was that some exercises and words in text were completely errated, and I was unsure on how to answer, or whether correct the TEXT itself or not. I decided to write the words the way they had put it (even though they were wrong) to show that I know the meaning, and at the same time, to highlight the mistake. I’m waiting for the results now. ^^ They said they would be up on the university website the evening of the same day, but it’s now two days and they aren’t up yet. Talk about seriousness…

Tomorrow I’m leaving for another 2-days vacation again, with my son Alberto. This is the last vacation we take together, unless we manage to find another day within July and August to dedicate to ourselves only, but I’ve got my Calculus exam on September, so that’s unlikely to happen. We’ll see.

Least but not last, an update on an art commission I’m currently working on (characters by Mira518, commissioned by her). ‘Later!

My birthday lunch on June 17th has been a memorable one. Sure, most friends were missing, and my sister as well, but I really enjoyed it nontheless, because my sweet friend Serena and Simone enlighted my day like small suns. They offered me a shoulder when I needed to let go of much anger (long story, that deserves a private post sometimes soon) and delusion and hurt, and I was also very happy to see Serena accepting Simmy as a “son” of mine without prejudice or close-minded opinions. She’s really amazing! And by now, after 10 years of friendship, a real sister, not just a friend. After the lunch, before dismissing, I gave her a big hug, one of those that you cannot forget. I hope I can see her again on September. She’s leaving for a summer job now, and I will be missing her deeply. My son kept me company until evening, and his sweet soul donated so much happiness to my special day. How adorable a son he is! I’m so lucky! *__*

Then, on June 19th, I celebrated my birthday again with my family, aka parents, siblings, grandmother and aunties (mom’s sisters). They were all so lovely, apart from a VERY embarassing moment, when one of my aunties spotted a framed photo of Simmy and I snuggling and thought we were together! O_O That was the most embarassing thing ever happened, and today I’m going to face her together with my son and explain things clearly. He’s my son and nothing else, and I really don’t like people thinking we’re together. Bleh. Anyhow, it was a nice and happy day, and I also received a lot of money (100 Euros from grandma, 50 from my parents). Not bad.

Finally, I must really thank Kya of bubble.nu for increasing my webhosting space on her servers. *__* That was her personal ‘thank you’ for my $10 donation (not even much), and I’m more and more amazed at how BIG her heart is! Thank you Kya! You know, she’s one of my Beloved now (aka affiliates, best friends, whatever you call them), and I couldn’t be happier, because we’re similar for some things (both of us love writing, creating, mantaining domains, etc.).

Speaking of websites, I might be adding some articles on spam and SEO on n0t.info next month. I just need to study these topics better first. I must say that SEO and Link Building are some of my favourite online readings lately, and I know how much bloggers (those who are looking for online cash) do care about learning it all well. I hope I will be good enough to give them a helping hand.

So, what now? … I PASSED my Discrete Mathematics exam!!! YAY! Got a 20/30, which is a big score to me, as the subject was really hard to learn and master. I’m proud of myself and I’m thankful for life to my lovely Simmy for helping my guide and support through the learning of this wonderful but difficult subject. Thank you sweetheart!

My 25th birthday comes on the 17th of June. Can you believe it?!? I’m a quarter of a century old! ’ But in the end, it doesn’t feel that bad at all: I’m still a teenager at heart, a kid to be precise, a dreamer, a creative being who shall never stop having fun with the simplest joys in life, and who’ll never stop playing with creativity. That’s the way God made me and I cherish it every day of my life.

Tomorrow night (on the 16th) I will celebrate my birthday with my best friend Cristina and her boyfriend. They invited me over for dinner, how sweet! ^w^ They did this because they can’t come to my birthday lunch at the restaurant on the 17th; they only people who will come are my Simone and my other good friend Serena. I had invited another friend too (Claudia), but she’s working on that day, so she can’t come. I really miss her, and I hope I can talk to her on Facebook in the next days. ^^ Now that I’m free of that exam I can spend more time with my friends and my kids.

First Degree Equations
A first degree equation is an equation in the form ax + b = 0.
Let’s work out an example together, to see how to solve it. It’s very simple.
Example: 3x + 2 = 0.
Given this first degree equation, what you want to do by solving is to isolate the x (which is unknown) and give it a value. We do this with these simple 3 steps:
1. Take the + 2 to the right side, by changing its sign: 3x = - 2
2. Now, you need to isolate the x, because it is shown as a product of 3 and x. To isolate it, you need to divide left and right side by 3, because by doing so, you will obtain (3/3)x on the left side, and you should know already that a number divided by itself gives 1 as a solution. Hence: (3/3)x = (-2)/3
3. Last step; just finish your simplification and you’ve found the searched value for x: x = (-2)/3

I’m considering purchasing another one or two cell phone plans for my spare Blackberry phone I bought on eBay a few years ago and never used. I don’t like wasting my things, so it would be good to get a SIM card to us with it. :-/ I would get a Vodafone card probably, because that’s one my son uses, and I could talk to him for longer hours without spending the endless Euros I spend now. ^^” With Vodafone it would be like 38 cents per call, I believe…? Not sure yet, but it certainly won’t be the usual 5 Euros per call anymore! O_O Hehe. Save save save people!

As for other plans I was checking out, I found some to be cheaper on Billshrink; at least, that’s what I could see so far. Billshrink is nothing more than a FREE service that lets users compare various cellphone card offers and pick the cheapest available, as well as offering low-price combinations. It’s a good tool to save lotsa money. ^^ Although it does not work with all services (only T-Mobile, Sprint and the like), it’s a good starting point, isn’t it?

I’ve heard about teen drug rehab centers, and the charming work they do to get these young boys and girls out of drug addiction. I think it’s very good a thing that these centers do exist, especially since teen drug treatment can be tougher than for adults, because teenagers are so fragile, and they often hide deeper psychological or family issues behind the use of drugs and alcohol.

There are so many nice programs on the California teen drug rehab website, and so many initiatives… I hope we’ll get something like that over here too. Kids and teens should never be left alone, and this is coming from one that has suffered from depression in the past, during 4 of her teen years. Nothing to joke about, really..

You know, it’s been a long time also since I last bought a girly mag. ^^ The fact is that the news and beauty sections written on online magazines are enough to me. I don’t need to spend money on paper to get the last Celebrity News, ‘aight? I like reading about celebrity news because I can relate to many of them for a lot of stuff, especially for parenting and about living our own life in OUR style, and not others’; but it’s also fun to see what they come up with in their lives, and the so many things that are different from my views. Celebrities are nothing but people like us who’ve gotten a chance to show off their skills in some fields (moda, cinema, singing, etc.) and I’ve got to admire most of them for their braveness. I hope I can be less shy with time, and be a little more of a ‘tiger’ like them, who fight for their dreams everyday. Yep!

As for other news, I have now one of my children helping me with Maths topics at university. ^-^ I won’t mention his name, but just know that he’s an adorable sweetheart, and I’m so happy to be his MOM! *_* Well, second mom, because he has a mom already… but hey! 2 is better than 1, isn’t it so? Every time I look at his beautiful green eyes, I feel like melting inside, as if I have given birth to him. If you have kids, I’m sure you know what I mean.

I’m also getting my mind to work around some of my Transformers/Robot Characters’ designs, especially those who have a vehicle alt mode. I like the spoilers shown off on Carid.com for instance, and I might rest my heart on that for color and style reference. I’m just not very sure yet, whether using them for reference design or just go ahead and invent my own. I tell you: I’m not THAT smart! XD Not yet, at least… Oh well, there’s still a lot of time to come to a final decision.

As for university classes… oh, they’re great! Got Linear Algebra and Physics this semester, and my teachers are F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S!!! Hehe. I also have found a wonderful “Child of the Heart” at university, but you should GO and READ my last post on Sweet-Loves.net to know about it. ^_^ Awww I’m so happy!

Ah, there’s a thing I want to tell you guys about the paid blogging issue: no matter what FTC regulations say, if you really purchased a certain product and feel like giving a word out about it on your blog, GO AHEAD and do it! There is no reason to be scared, seriously. They just want people to be honest and not write biased reviews. Sometimes you can read the product reviews on article sites to get an idea; you can find more neutral articles too, and some have been written by people who directly used a certain product. It’s just important to never spam, and never ‘advertise’ something. But writing opinions online is a RIGHT of every Internet citizen. Nobody can close your mouth shut, okay?

And since we’re in topic of reviews: I read some nice ones about cellphones and birthday cards if you wish to take a look. They’re nice readings, useful for your visitor section too, to get more ideas. Heh, the web is a real big resource to add more stuff to our little sites. ^^

So anyway, I’m continuing my studies. I managed to pay the 2nd semester fee with my own earnings, and that was so satisfying! I can finally say I’m proud of myself, hehe. I hope I’ll make it to pass those Calculus and Discrete Mathematics exams before March 2011, so I can go on with the other ones and get my degree in 3-4 years. Please God, assist me!

I have done a questionnaire given at my PHP course, and I scored 80/100. :3 w00t! That’s good! I’m happy with it, especially considering that I’ve been rushing to catch up on lessons. XD I’m going to test more PHP scripts tomorrow, and continue my lessons. Can’t wait.

Right now, it’s 1AM and I’m so freakin’ tired! =_= Just finished writing a batch of paid reviews at WARP speed, and I can’t even control my brain anymore… Bleh. More updates coming soon, too tired to do anything right now. See ya..

Also, I’m considering the option of using a discount printing service (ex. PsPrint) to print out posters and cards for my Robocity World fans all around the world. It would be a ‘limited edition’ goodie of course, because I don’t have a big budget to spend on it, but soon as I collect more ideas, I will be glad to put up a poll to see what you readers and fans of my stories want the most. Little goodies are nice sometimes. Hehe.

Yes, my Characters – especially from the Prime Family and Robocity – strongly want my attention of late.

A set of dodge ram photos gave me new ideas for Robocity characters to insert in my stories and blogs. w00t! Since the Dodge Ram 2500 is a strongly built car, I’m thinking of making it into an adult robot who has worked in the transport field on the mountains, and was later on replaced with a new one, so he went to Robocity and became a citizen. This is only a draft though. I have other ideas that cadillac cts specs and buick lucerne specs provided to me last night. I will write more about these ones on luana.milk-drops.com later today though, because I have to go to a birthday party in a few hours.

So, would anyone be interested in articles on how to create a character that blogs online? I just thought I would love to share my creative ideas and activities with you darlings, so that you can give it a try.

Now, back to something of a more serious topic. You know what Home Loans are, right? Money that banks and loan companies lend to individuals to make up for immobile or restructuring payments that would get years and years to cover otherwise. Well, I’m not sure if the situation is good in your country when it comes to buy an apartment or a house, but here in Italy we’re kind of messed up. Loan payback interest is kind of high, and loans are only given to people with a fixed/semi-fixed job. That’s really bad, since most people nowadays don’t have a fixed job, but work on part-time and/or up-to-6 months contracts. I’m hoping that this situation will be solved by our government asap, because this way not just the immobile marketing is going to die, but also people won’t have a chance to buy their own house, and live with their parents or other relatives for undefinite time. It’s not pleasant, trust me… I hope this situation will come to an end by the time I start looking around for a single apartment (around year 2018-2020), and that my friends will get to find a good apartment or a house somewhere to move out and get married.

If I’ll be lucky, I’ll get to find a good small apartment in Velletri, my mom’s birth-town. Some are sold for about €50k which is not bad, and can be bought easily with a small personal loan too, and paying the rest of the price with one own’s savings. I can just dream for now, but you know… just to get an idea of what type of life I’m looking forward to in the future.

Question for my readers: How’s your country when it comes to get home loans and/or pay for immobiles?

So, here’s my list of goals I hope I get to accomplish within December 2010:

- continue university OR go to work for a web-design/comic-book company
- self-publish and sell my e-book of Sci-Fi short stories “Lights of Metal and Sky”
- get ALL of my Characters’ blogs started (even if seldom updated)
- loose a jeans size (aka, 5-6 kilos)
- learn to code well in PHP

- feeling good with myself and worthy despite of eventual failures in studies and careers

That’s my program. I don’t ask for more. I like to live my life daily, to enjoy the present, because programming and scheduling too much just makes me feel trapped and causes anxiety attacks and depressions. And trust, me it sucks!

Tomorrow at 11AM I’m going out with Cristina (my best friend) and her boyfriend. It’s been so long since I’ve hanged out with an old friend! Sure, I met sweet Edit last month, but here I’m talking about a long time friend who lives nearby. Adult life makes us all so busy, and when we have a little chance to be together, it can only be welcomed with joy as a precious thing. And you know? Cri’s boyfriend is such a nice person! He likes to joke a lot, but he’s kind, so I feel at ease with him. Most times I don’t ask Cri to go out because I don’t want to take her too much time away from her boyfriend and her things to do (especially now with her grandma in hospital.. please pray for her if you can!) but when we can go out all together, I’m fine with it. I’m a bit shy now because I haven’t had a real social life for so long, but she’s my best friend and I’m sure I’m going to feel at ease again soon.
