Joomla! and Drupal: the next learning step

Yesterday I mentioned my experimenting with a different, more difficult to use CMS – Joomla! – for my attempt at a first working experience, which failed alas. I have Joomla! installed on sonyqrio.luanasworld.it, an old subdomain of mine I thought of re-creating for this learning experiment – no, my Sony QRIO fanpage won’t be hosted there, but on qrio.sweet-loves.net, as soon as I can re-create it. My plan is to schedule 2-3 Joomla! learning sessions per week, in order to get acquainted with the administration panel, its functionalities and article posting options. I’m going to skip template editing for the moment: I need to focus on the CMS in itself, without having the graphic design aspect get in the way.
The other website builder I plan on learning to use soon is Drupal (drupal.org), which is said to have an even slower learning curve than Joomla!. I’m not starting with this one until September/October 2011, but I’ve begun to explore its docs pages, and I have installed its latest version on lovelyrobots.luanasworld.it (another old subdomain of mine). At a first glance, the admin panel reminds a lot of the WordPress Dashboard, but it might be a ‘sight’ trick. 
There’s more to it, I’m sure. Hehe.
Why this sudden resolution in wanting to learn new CMSs? That would be a legitimate question on your behalf. Well, I can give you two answers:
1. I feel the inner push to learn new things, IT related;
2. I need to learn how to use these two CMSs for my future job: knowledge of either Joomla! or Drupal may be required, like it happened with the story I told you in my last post.
It’s a good personal challenge, one I’m going to stick to.
